Mission
2.1 Mission Statement
THE WONDER OF COMMUNICATION — GLOBALLY NETWORKING, LOCALLY ROOTED
What is the purpose of the project. International film projects that branch environmental and sociological topics into strong narrative movies — integrating those storylines into TV series and films for the big screen, with a transnational approach globally.
Who it will affect. The program is environmental and humanitarian in equal measure — the two are not separable in the places it works, where clean water, clean air and safe ground are the daily terms of people's lives rather than a policy question. Eighteen years of experience producing with local people across four continents in several countries, with a team holding a track record of internationally acclaimed film awards; the most recent production was short-listed for the Oscars. Local people are employed for production, and every continent has its own headquarters to build bridges for cross-cultural communication and connect people through direct international exchange. Local communities gain a different exposure in more remote countries, interconnecting them with unusual partner countries.
What benefit it will construe. The track record will perpetuate itself; the intention is to kickstart this with the funder's support. Green Me has already linked water researchers in the US, France and the Middle East, with very different approaches arising from different traditions and technologies, ancient and current, combined with strong storytelling for the modern world of streaming platforms and the big screen.
"The universal language is the language of images and signs. We reach across all borders — we touch, we ask, and we offer answers. Through films with real media impact we succeed in sensitising every level of society to sustainable topics. Green Me serves as an open platform for exchange, for our audience and our partners. We want to strengthen film as a means of communication and present our topics internationally and for the long term."
Nicolai Niemann, CEO & Festival President (translated from German)
2.2 Why Now
For our children's future — a clean world.
Status quo: Neom · Luxembourg · Vaduz · Singapore · Nairobi · Monaco · Riyadh Goal: global communication reaching all 222 countries and territories.
2.3 Our Motivation
Science is revealing the irreversible and severe harm being inflicted on the planet. Climate change is one of several unprecedented, large-scale environmental changes affecting it, and while the impact may vary across sectors of the economy in both the developed and developing world, it affects everyone the same. With global warming and the destruction of the planet through pollution and land degradation, Green Me's objective is to contribute a quota to ecological preservation by promoting films that champion this cause — creating awareness of this earth-threatening danger and encouraging individual as well as collective contributions to nature protection and preservation. The festival's ideology is to propagate ecological and environmental preservation by supporting films that defend this commitment.
2.4 Our Goal
Humans pollute the soil, water and air. Think-tank discussions range from environmental protection to the big cleanup. The aim is to sensitise people to the most significant threats to our own habitat, and ultimately to create awareness of the dangers associated with climate change by hosting the Green Me Festival on every continent — launching simultaneously in several countries across the world. The target is Europe, Africa, the Middle East, Asia, America and Oceania. In this way the message is taken to people, instead of waiting for them to come to us.
2.5 The Reach
222 countries and territories reaching outbound peacefully to the world population — globally networking, locally rooted. Every country communicating with the whole world.
